Whistling Whale Coffee co. began in 2020, what started as a hobby fuelled by caffeination quickly grew in demand with our local community and became a small family run business. Coffee is a morning ritual and afternoon pick me up, meant to be savoured and shared. What better way to share it than with our community. 

We source high quality green coffee, mostly organic, fair trade and many which are sourced from women's co ops from coffee growing regions such as Columbia, Peru, Rwanda, Honduras and Ethiopia. 

We began roasted on a tiny 1lb roaster in 2020. After lots of trial and error, countless hours of reading and studying the art of coffee roasting, we started to develop a special set of skills in our craft and the coffee was tasting great. This was a fun and rewarding hobby we shared. With great coffee came loyal customers. Juggling full time jobs, a big blended family, and a roaster that was only roasting 1lb at a time, it quickly began to consume every free moment we had. Production needed to increase and today we operate on a full size commercial grade coffee roaster where we are able to meet the demand of our existing customers and develop an entirely new customer base up and down Vancouver Island. This hobby has transformed into what is known today as Whistling Whale Coffee co. officially founded in May 2022 in Ladysmith, BC.
